Capri Jeans

Capri jeans have been present in the fashion world since the late fifties and the early sixties.

Nowadays, these are just so hip and just about every clothing store stocks them, with various fabrics like cotton, denim and polyester, all at different price ranges (depending on the brand). So, if you thought that capris jeans have only been around since the 90’s, you were mistaken as they’ve been around for decades. They are named as such, "capri", because it is the name of the island where the style was first worn. Capri is an Italian island and was the first place where the style of wearing Capri pants became widely known.

The style of wearing women’s capri jeans became more of a fashion phenomenon in the United States because of the 1960’s popular TV series The Dick Van Dyke Show. One of the characters of the series, Laura Petrie who is a young housewife played by Mary Tyler Moore started the fashion sensation by wearing different capri pants. During the show’s run, the character was seen wearing varied styles of snug-fitting womens jeans categorized as capri. The style then mellowed down from the 70’s through the 90’s but had its way back in the trend during the new millennium.

So today, a lot of women can be seen wearing different styles of capri jeans in almost every setting. Because of the variety of sizes, colors, styles and designs of this pair of cropped pants, a pair can be worn at any event, may it be a professional state of affairs or a simple, casual setting.

It can be said that each capri has a personality of its own. That is why dressing up and accessorizing with a pair of women’s capri jeans is very easy. One of the get-ups that work best with the cuffed jeans is a dressy look. For this, you can go with a fitted white tank worn under a tan-cropped jacket with short sleeves or a shawl. Complete the outfit with tan flats, or shoes with small heels.

Blue denim capris are also very easy to pair with top and accessories. Just like Levi’s Women’s Misses 515 Cuffed Capri. This denim pair of pants by Levi’s is a very modern apparel featuring a belted waist and rolled cuffs. It has a comfortable fit as it sits just below the waist (low rise style) and is stretchable. The dual back pocket comes as a standard feature detail, along with the belt loops to strap on your favorite canvas belt for a casual wear look. Looking after a denim capri is easy. Remember to turn the jeans inside out when you wash them to prevent color fade (unless that's what you're looking for). The Levi jeans range are always machine washable and easily maintained.

For a more casual look, something to wear as you lay back, a pair of jeans with a large cuff can be worn with a plain black long shirt. Match them with a scarf, a nice pair of flip-flops and oversized sunglasses to complete the outfit.

Capri pants with a clean straight hem line are perfect for a fun, nighttime get-up. A white stylish t-shirt with lace or any other embellishments can go beautifully with a pair of ultraskinny capri jeans, along with a navy scarf and navy heels. To comfortably go out on a chilly weather, you can top the outfit with a cute winter hat.

So, if you’re growing tired of your messy, frayed hems, you better shop for trendier pair of pants such as the cuffed pair of pants. The style is easy to carry, and looks great with a variety of tops and accessories. On your next shopping spree, why not try on some of the fashionable capri jeans styles of 2010.
